I'm guessing it's mostly because of the lack of any major hatches. Nymph season is here...

I agree...Stream etiquette is lacking on many streams. Don't be surprised if it happens to you more than once during the DH season. It can ruin the day. Sometimes fishing a more secluded spot on the river away from roads and access points is the best option when a lack of etiquette is present on the stream. I hate it too!! I was fishing the Nantahala River one afternoon this summer. I caught a small brook trout out of a pool and apparently another fisherman saw me catch him. Well, he came running down the hill and threw his fly into the pool I was fishing. He caught a few for himself and left. Unfortunately there's not much you can do to prevent it. If you flat out tell the person to leave, you're asking for an arguement. I guess some Fly fisherman and some bait fisherman are different in that they both have different views on stream etiquette...There's a lot of controversy on this topic...

Still, glad you caught some good fish on the Mitchell.

Tyler

Hey Tyler,

Besides being what I consider crowded, I did catch a few nice fish. Nymphs are key right now copper johns, gold ribbed hares ears, and stone fly nymphs. I did have a hole crasher throw a spinner into my spot twice (not same hole, two different spots) after watching me catch a few bows. I think we may need a class on stream etiquete.

Lance
