I did get the oppurtunity to fish the C&R Trophy section on the 'luftee. Hooked into a few very nice Palominos. The Oconaluftee is in my top ten Southeast fly fishing rivers now...

Hey David,

Sorry about the late response. I've been on the Nantahala and the Oconaluftee yesterday and today...Just got back half an hour ago.

I am seriously considering the Caney. After I recently purchased an annual TN liscense, I'll try to fish most, if not all of the famous TN tailwaters...

Glad you're enjoying the Hiwassee. It can get tough during the summer months but there are still plenty of fish in there... One of these days you need to head over here to fish the Caney...lots of good sight fishing opportunities right now if you're into that sort of thing... Oh, and that fish was on the Caney...
